Today’s Scripture

Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink, about your body, or what you will wear.  Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes?    Matthew 6:25 (NIV)

Today’s Word

The welfare of the sheep depends solely on the care given from the shepherd.  If the shepherd does not worry, why should the sheep?  The shepherd goes ahead of the sheep and knows when it is time for a new wardrobe, new shoes, or time to eat.  But there is a greater need.  The need of caring for your life, soul, mind and your body.  Our heavenly Father knows our needs before we ask and is willing to give them to us when we put Him first in our lives.  We accomplish this by living as He desires for us to live.  The Lord wants to give you a life of abundance.  So, study and pray so you will be knowledgeable about God’s will for you!  It is then that you will know His will, and you will be able to answer unto his calling.

STANDING IN THE MIDST OF ADVERSITY You Are My Praise – Part I – Dealing with Health Issues

Today’s Scripture

Heal me, O LORD, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved, for You are my praise.          Jeremiah 17:14 (Amp)

Today’s Word

Are you in adversity with a health issue today?  The good news is that JESUS paid the price for your healing on the cross.  A reality is you have to believe and receive this truth to be healed.  In the words of the Late Bishop G.E. Patterson, “If you can have it, GOD can heal it.”  The secret to healing is that if you have the faith for salvation, then this same faith can produce your healing.

It is important to realize that God works through doctors, medicine and corrective surgery.  Sometime, the medicines, surgeries, and physicians are in GOD’s healing plan.  Don’t limit GOD.  Remember, only GOD controls His Miraculous Power.  Be Encouraged!

The mere fact of knowing that you absolutely win in the end helps when you face the beginning and middle phases of your healing .  Knowing the truth makes you free!

Today’s Scripture

‘Will the Lord reject forever?  Will He never show His unfailing love again?  Has His promise failed for all time?  Has God forgotten to be merciful?  Has He in anger withheld his compassion?’ Then I thought, ’To this will I appeal: The years of the right hand of the Most High.’

Psalm 77:7-10 (NIV)

Today’s Word

I’ve always found it amazing that, in the middle of this psalm, the psalm writer seemed to realize that he couldn’t just sit around thinking about the negative things that were happening in his life.  Perhaps he understood that if he kept thinking about the negative he would keep feeling down, so in order to get the negative things out of his mind he decided to replace them with thoughts about the Lord.  There is an old proverb that says, “Instead of cursing the darkness, light a candle.”  Many times when we find ourselves in dark situations in life, dark situations at work, dark situations in our families.  We try to find someone to call and say, “It sure is dark” when what we really need to do is replace those thoughts with thoughts about the light.

Those children may be acting out of character, but at least they’re healthy!

They may not pay you what you desire right now, but at least you’re working!

They may have walked out of your life, but at least they didn’t take you out on the way!

Instead of cursing the dark areas in your life, I dare you to light a candle of praise!

Today’s Scripture

Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known.

Jeremiah 33:3  (KJV)

Today’s Word

We’re living in a fast pace world.  Our cell phones often ping with text messages.   After responding to the text, we then check our email.  Next, we get an instant message.  We respond to it, and then decide to check our Facebook page.   Where is it we’re meeting friends?    Afterwards, we check Twitter for messages.  Before we know it, night-time has come, and we’ve missed the most important task of the day.   We did not call God or answer when the Holy Spirit called us.

The Bible tells us to call on God, and surely He will answer us and tell us great and hidden things that we have no knowledge of.  God has a word just for you.  I encourage you to take some time each day to meditate on the Word of God.

New Age technology is wonderful, but God’s Word is Awesome!  Connecting to the world will fade away, but God’s Word with last forever!

When Opportunity Breeds Opposition

Watch out for people who are absent during your struggle, but present during your success.  The favor of God can often reveal the truth within our inner circle, such as people we though were our friends, but really were not true friends.  When the favor of God is on our lives, and God is doing His work within us,  sometimes our friends don’t understand the shift that is taking place and soon begin to drift apart from the connection which we once thought was inseparable.  Often times, others will feel they are privileged to discuss details about our lives when they don’t really know who we truly are.  Those individuals will often broadcast our failures, but remain totally silent about our successes.

Favor has been reduced to a one-sided, enjoyable and destitute of trouble indulgence.   It is vastly important that we understand that when the favor of God is on our lives, things will not always be convenient.  My point is this — Favor Breeds Opposition.  Just because the favor of God is on our lives doesn’t mean we will be free from challenges.   However, we should be reminded of this very important fact.  Regardless of the current fashion of the matter, our present difficulty is going to be instrumental to our future happiness.   Romans 8:28-29 tells us that “all things work together for good for those who love God and for those who are called according to His purpose.”    We have be able to handle the oppositions that come with the opportunities.  It’s easy to handle favor, especially when things are going as we intended.   It’s dealing with the opposition that requires spiritual maturity.  In order to handle the next move of God, we have to resist retaliation.  In order to resist retaliation, it is important for us to know why the opposition is present from the start.  The pressure of opposition is usually caused by our successes and not our failures.  Opposition is usually created by our desires to constantly and consistently become better than we were before — to strive for greater heights in life — to go from glory to glory.  Don’t let the opposition keep you from growing.  To embrace the next move of God, we must be willing to pray with our problem.   When we pray, we give God earthly permission to enter our situation and give divine revelation to us about US!  It’s not just the problem that God wants to work out, but He also want to clear out the distractions and clutter in our lives and reveal His divine plan for us.  Jeremiah 29:11

Nehemiah rebuilding Jerusalem

Nehemiah Rebuilding Jerusalem

We must also build through the bitterness.   It is vital that we don’t let bitterness eat away at the opportunities in this life that God has planned for us.  God wants to know if we are going to be responsible when the opposition comes.  Will we trust Him or will we act as though God is not on our side?  Let’s come into agreement and decree today that we will choose to trust Him totally and completely.   “As soon as I heard these words I sat down and wept and mourned for days, and I continued fasting and praying before the God of heaven.”  Nehemiah 1:4
